Ava's 1st Birthday Party

Ava had her 1st Birthday Party on Saturday. She had fun seeing all of her family, opening gifts and eating her first piece of cake. The weather was very very warm but we managed to find enough shade to keep us cool. We would just like to thank our family and friends for making this day extra special! I always feel like someone is watching me....

The Menta's were over at our house yesterday. The plan was to have Ava take a nap so that we could all go out to dinner. I put her down for a nap but I could tell she did not want to go to sleep. After putting her down I joined everyone else out on the patio. We were all talking when Veronica said I think Ava is peeking at us...sure enough I looked up and this is what I saw!

I can't believe that little girl is so smart to stand up in her crib and pull back the blinds in order to see what is going on without her. Ava is such a social creature she does not want to miss the party!

Gift from Gradma & Grandpa

Ava's grandma and grandpa visited last weekend and brought her a wrapped gift. The last time Ava had presents to open was Christmas and she was unable to take off the wrapping paper by herself. Here she is tearing into the present and loving it!

Standing tall

For the last few weeks Ava has been pulling herself up on anything she can get her hands on and then letting go for a few seconds. On Monday she was playing on the floor, when Mark yelled, "Jenny" I ran over and he said you missed it Ava just stood up all by herself. Of course, I was bummed that I had missed her standing, but then yesterday while she was playing she did it again. I ran to get the camera and was able to catch it on video...check her out!

Ava & Mia

Ava and her cousin Mia were able to hang out together last week at their abuela's house. Unfortunately, Ava only seemed interested in pulling Mia's blanket off her while she was sleeping. Good thing Mia didn't seem to mind her sleep being interrupted.

Cabo

Ava had a lot of fun during her 1st trip to Cabo. She enjoyed swimming in the pool, waving hi to all the other guests, and eating dinners out with mom & dad. She was definitely the star of the resort!
