Summer time

We have had a very cool summer but over the last few days it has been really hot. Ava was finally able to wear a cute watermelon outfit her grandma Preininger got for her. Here she is enjoying the warm summer time weather.

Filoli Gardens

We visited Filoli Gardens (a historic mansion in Woodside) last weekend in hopes of attending a concert and touring the gardens. When we arrived they told us the concert was sold out. Luckily, the concert was outdoors so we could hear the music while we walked around the beautiful grounds. It was a gorgeous day out and we enjoyed our afternoon outing.

When Ava wakes up from her naps she always has the craziest bed head. On this particular day it was exceptionally funky.

Playgroup outing

Last Thursday Ava and a few of her friends visited the Academy of Sciences in SF. The Academy has recently remodeled their facility and it is AMAZING! Ava had so much fun looking at the beautiful aquariums and animal exhibits. I think this is a place we will definitely have to re-visit.

Until recently Ava has been much more interested in crawling as a way of getting around. She liked using the walker to get around, but over the past few days she has been walking on her own! She definitely has a Frankenstein monster walk, with her arms out in front and straight legs. Here is some video of her walking and harassing Marley...poor Mar-Mar :(

Ava's 1st Birthday Party

Ava had her 1st Birthday Party on Saturday. She had fun seeing all of her family, opening gifts and eating her first piece of cake. The weather was very very warm but we managed to find enough shade to keep us cool. We would just like to thank our family and friends for making this day extra special! Here are some pics of the birthday Girl....can't believe she will be officially 1 in just a few more days.

I always feel like someone is watching me....

The Menta's were over at our house yesterday. The plan was to have Ava take a nap so that we could all go out to dinner. I put her down for a nap but I could tell she did not want to go to sleep. After putting her down I joined everyone else out on the patio. We were all talking when Veronica said I think Ava is peeking at us...sure enough I looked up and this is what I saw!

I can't believe that little girl is so smart to stand up in her crib and pull back the blinds in order to see what is going on without her. Ava is such a social creature she does not want to miss the party!
