Pumpkins Pumpkins Pumpkins!! and a Goat

Over the past week Ava has seen, touched, and possibly licked too many pumpkins to count. Last week her Abuela and I took her to Phillips Farms. For those of you non-Lodians, Phillips Farm is the place to go to pick out your Halloween pumpkin. On Sunday Mark and I took Ava to Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay. We had a great time and Ava got to pet a goat!

Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo

Mark and I took Ava to the Junior Museum and Zoo in Palo Alto. This is an awesome place kids her age. The Museum is filled with great interactive exhibits and the zoo was just the right size for her to run around and see all her favorite little animals.

Last weekend we took a road trip to Southern California to visit Ava's great grandpa & grandma Penner. Along the way we stopped in Solvang and had a great time walking around town. We also visited an Ostrich and Emu Farm!

Good Night Ava

Ava's dad is the one who usually puts Ava to bed so I really don't know what is going on upstairs while she is getting ready for bed. The other night I heard her laughing hysterically so I had to go up and see what was going on. She was jumping up on the bed! This child is crazy, even though she is exhausted, she is able to find enough energy to keep on playing. The funny thing is you ask her "Ava are you getting sleepy" and she responds by lying her head down....so sweet :)

Ava Knows Her Books

About a month ago I asked Ava where her "Goodnight Moon" Book was and to my surprise she walked over and picked it up. I was amazed and thought she just might know the word book. So, I continued to ask her more book titles and she would go right over to the correct book and point to it. She has been doing this for a while and I finally got Mark to record us quizzing her.

Summer time

We have had a very cool summer but over the last few days it has been really hot. Ava was finally able to wear a cute watermelon outfit her grandma Preininger got for her. Here she is enjoying the warm summer time weather.

Filoli Gardens

We visited Filoli Gardens (a historic mansion in Woodside) last weekend in hopes of attending a concert and touring the gardens. When we arrived they told us the concert was sold out. Luckily, the concert was outdoors so we could hear the music while we walked around the beautiful grounds. It was a gorgeous day out and we enjoyed our afternoon outing.
